trade in intermediates , trade policy , skill premium
Abstract:
My essay concentrates on the topic of trade in intermediates. The rising global value chains (GVCs) since the beginning of the 1990s have reshaped the global production process. The corresponding dispersal of trade in inputs has significant macroeconomic and microeconomic implications. In Chapter 1, I tend to analyze the impact of trade in intermediates on unilateral optimal trade policy. In Chapter 2, I explore the China labor market outcomes of the exposure to processing exports, especially the skill wage premium.
