We present an integrated optimization framework for green product
and supply chain design that jointly determines facility openings and
material flows on the supply chain side and product assortment and
pricing on the market side. Supply chain CO emissions are allocated
to individual units, while demand is driven by product attributes such
as price and CO-label. Demand inputs are estimated via conjoint anal
yses for chocolate and smartwatches. Our study links supply chain
optimization with consumer analytics and shows how CO accounting
frameworks affect product and supply chain design.
