Abstract:	This dissertation contains three essays on monetary and fiscal policy. Chapter 1 focuses on empirically identifying the causal effects of systematic monetary policy. Chapter 2 studies challenges in monetary policy shock identification due to time-variation in systematic monetary policy. Chapter 3 studies the macroeconomic consequences of tax bracket creep in Germany.
